Chocolate brown skin stretches along his back
Broken and crippled but resilient all the same
His brown eyes are stubborn and pained
Drawn into himself, he demands respect
But there isn't anything he can do outside, the damage is done
He fights like the green sea
Pulling in to escape the loneliness
The tide pushing out to break away from attachment
The strong waves lash out
Ready to defend his withered waters from the cause of his pain
What can he do but continue the cycle
Pull in then drag out
Lonely, but scared of being mistreated
Unjustly criticized and beaten
He's just trying to float
Be the calm of the sea
